Burdick Road Orchard is family owned and operated by Donna Howard and Marty Post. The orchard was part of one of the founding farms of New Hartford, Connecticut, settled by the Marsh family in 1730 and operating continuously since then. Donna and Marty bought the orchard in 2001.
Our seasonal stand is open 7 days a week from early August through Thanksgiving, 8:30 a.m. to dusk. We feature both popular and heritage apples. We also offer cider, peaches, preserves, our own artisanal baked goods, mums grown here in Litchfield County, native honey, and New England handcrafts. Our Little Blue Bakery, in the old milk house, accepts orders year-round. Watch for our Apples & Art events in the fall! We welcome group tours. To learn more, please call 860-738-2207 or drive to the orchard, just 1.5 miles up the hill from the intersection of Rte. 219 with Rte. 44 in downtown New Hartford. Or follow us on Facebook!
Our fine Victorian dairy barn, built in 1895 using massive beams moved from an early 1800s barn, has been named one of the 200 most significant barns in Connecticut by the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation. Check it out!
